The online video platform Amazon is expanding its offer in four countries including France to better compete with its rivals in the streaming sector.
The online video platform Amazon Prime Video announced Tuesday a new widening of its offer in four countries including France, with the launch of a service of purchase or rental of films called “Store Prime Video”. Already available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, it is now available in France, as well as in Italy, Spain and Australia.
“Films from major international studios such as Disney, Warner Bros., NBC Universal, Sony, Paramount, Lionsgate can be rented or purchased on the Prime Video Store like recent titles Jumanji: Next Level and Joker available now“, specifies the Amazon streaming platform.
Films from French studios like Gaumont and Pathé are also on the program (Lion, Happy retirement !...).
This new function could help the platform to consolidate its positions in a streaming sector launched in an ever-increasing competition, with the recent launch of several new rivals like Disney + and Apple TV +.
Already, in addition to its main offer which allows you to watch thousands of series and films on subscription, including exclusive content, Amazon Prime Video had launched another feature last fall in France. “Prime Video Channels” allows you to subscribe to additional paid channels and services, offered by French and international partners.
