A poster reacts a lot. It is the least we can say. It is in Bordeaux that it happens. More precisely, on the city buses. Users have seen a poster appear in recent days, on which appear two hunters, facing the sun, in the countryside, at the edge of a wood and accompanied by a dog. Rifle on the back. And this message: “Get your hunting license for 0 euros! Free yourself from everyday life!”
At the origin of this advertising campaign, not surprisingly, the Gironde Hunting Federation. And it didn't take long for the anti-hunting devices to react. And poured a torrent of insults on the Facebook page of the Girondin hunters. “Assassins”, “Dirty barbarians”, “You sow terror”. Hundreds of insulting messages, and even death threats according to the Hunting Federation, quoted by the newspaper Sud Ouest.
But hunters are not the only target of the “anti”: TBM, the manager of the Bordeaux public transport network, has also received many messages on social networks, accused by some internet users of supporting the hunters. And the manager refers to … the service provider, ClearChannel, who takes care of the advertising display. But said he wanted to be more vigilant in the future.
Today, France has around one million hunters, 38,000 in Gironde. It is the third so-called sporting activity in the country. But it faces increasing pressure from vegan activists, antispecies and animalists. The Gironde Hunting Federation says it does not want to stop there and file a complaint.
