A spectacular rescue in Russia. Amateur fishermen were caught by the melting ice on the island of Sakhalin, in the east of Russia. 600 of them drifted before being rescued by a hovercraft. The operation lasted for hours while the pack ice was cracking. There were no casualties, but the authorities castigated the unconsciousness of the men who went fishing despite the danger.
